No Mistake!

by Admin on Oct.28, 2008, under Work

We’ve just completed the latest in a series of CD-ROMs for educational publisher Revilo. NO MISTAKE! aims to improve the written  English of any student – foreign or English! Is it their’s or there’s, me and Harry or Harry and I?  I learnt quite a lot while working on this project! Here’s their blurb:

“ITS DEFINATLY YOU’RE PROBLEM!”

Doesn’t it drive you nuts? Your students’ written work is marred by a small number of common mistakes which are repeated over and over again. If they eliminate those errors, there’s a dramatic improvement in quality. The reader is no longer distracted from the content.

NO MISTAKE is a new interactive CD-ROM which can be installed on a school network and accessed whenever you want. It homes in on all those irritating mistakes we know so well: apostrophes, common mis-spellings, confusing words, their / they’re, etc, etc. It can also be used in class and by pupils working on their own at home.

No Mistake is self-marking and contains all the rules and tips the users need. Simple and practical to use, No Mistake is priced to be a bargain for any English department. It is just £50 plus VAT for a fully-networkable version with site licence. There is also a single-user version available at just £10. Visit the Revilo website: www.revilolang.com

Like all Revilo interactive CD_ROMs this works on both Windows PCs and Macs thanks to Adobe Director. We are now working on new internet based learning software for Revilo. Watch this space!

Graham Harvey’s Carbon Fields

by Admin on Oct.16, 2008, under Work

We’ve just finished working on the design and layout for a new book by award winning author Graham Harvey which is being published by Grass Roots.

Graham is best known as the Agricultural Story Editor for ‘The Archers’ – the epic BBC Radio 4 soap, although he is also the author of several campaigning books about food, farming and the environment including ‘The Killing of the Countryside’.

The book investigates grass feeding of cattle and explains how this can help fight climate change, produce more healthy food, bring wildlife back to our countryside and make agriculture sustainable.

The book is a compelling read and can be obtained from the Grass Roots website.

P.S. Archers forever!
